We love furry friends at M. C. Real Estate, but selling a home with pets can be challenging. It can bring additional work and effort into the equation. If you’re selling your home and you have pets, it’s important to take all the proper steps before you list your home for sale and also take all the proper steps while your home is being shown.
Before you sell: Do a DEEP cleaning (A professional to clean carpets and furniture may be in order).
Try not to limit showing times of your home, due to pets. Have backup solutions ready for last minute showing requests. (Lining up a dog walker can help by getting fido out of the house if you’re not available to do so)
It’s important to clean up after your pet and their belongings. Make sure your pet’s toys are in an organized pile in a tucked away area, such as a closet or a basement while your home is being photographed or shown.
With a little extra effort, you can make your home “sale ready” when you have a furry friend living with you!
